Welcome to my Web Site. My creations of Victorian era Plumb Bobs , each hand made can now be shared with you. What are these things Christmas ornaments ?  The Plumb Bob, is a tool used to build the first structures erected by man. Seldom recognized, made from a simple stone hanging on a string, a fancy presentation piece given to superior craftsman, even Royalty . Basically a weight hung from a line to define perfect vertical. The Plumb line is true and never lies. Its importance in building is the essence of success or failure and only requires gravity. As a collector of Antique tools I set out to have some fun and add some eye candy to my collection. One became two , then three, and so on.

So how in the world are they made?

Each one starts with a piece of raw material formed into a round length of machinable stock, what ever I choose to begin with . The turning lathe is a machine used to cut the pieces into any shape imaginable. The final product may be a simple turnip shape or an elaborate 16 sided diamond weighing 3 ounces to 25 pounds or more. The rest is what ever I imagine. Over the past 10 years I have turned out over 50 pieces.
